A sprain is a stretch or tear of a ligament, the strong bands that hold a joint together. Ankles, knees and wrists are most common, usually from a twist, fall or awkward landing.
Many sprains are under-treated. Without proper treatment and rehab a joint can stay weak and unstable, which is why the same ankle often goes again.

Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book directly. If I think you need a scan or a GP's opinion, I'll tell you.
Will my health insurance cover it?
Most major insurers don't cover sports therapy, but some smaller providers that cover alternative therapies will refund your fees. Check with your insurer.
