Assessment
Your pain, your health and whether acupuncture is suitable for you.
Fine needles placed at specific points to help relieve pain and support your recovery.
Acupuncture involves placing fine, sterile, single-use needles at specific points on the body. I use it within a clinical approach to help relieve musculoskeletal pain. We can also apply Electro-acupuncture which is very useful for stubbornly tight muscles and when other soft tissue techniques fail to reduce pain.
It's often used alongside hands-on treatment and exercise, particularly for long-standing pain or when other treatment hasn't fully helped.
Your pain, your health and whether acupuncture is suitable for you.
Needles are usually left in for a short time while you relax. We can even advance the treatment by applying electrodes and doing electro-acupuncture.
Most people feel fine straight away; some feel a little tired or sore for a day.
Not sure what's causing your pain? You don't need to pick a treatment. I'll assess you and recommend what suits your injury.
Can I just book this treatment?
You can, but most people leave it to me. Every session is 45 minutes and the same price, and I'll combine whichever methods your injury needs. You can always say no to any technique.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book directly. If I think you need a scan or a GP's opinion, I'll tell you.
What should I wear?
No specific clothing is required
Tell me roughly what's going on and I'll recommend the right treatment. I'll get back to you as soon as I'm out of clinic.
