A full history and whole-body assessment, including what you've already tried and why it didn't hold. Firstly is it Neurological or Biomechanical in origin?
Long term lower back pain for months or even years. You've tried physio, massage, painkillers and rest? You're exactly who I see most. I look for and address what everyone else has missed.
Back pain that has lasted more than three months
Treatment elsewhere helped for a week, then it came back
You've been told it's just wear and tear, or to live with it
It affects your work, sleep, mood or time with your family
Long-term back pain is often multifactorial and is either Biomechanical or Neurological (often both) in nature. It rarely comes from one damaged structure. More often it's a mix of stiff joints, muscles that have stopped doing their job, old injuries elsewhere that change how you move, and a nervous system that has become more sensitive to pain over time.
That's why treatments aimed only at the area of pain tend to give temporary relief. Lasting change means finding and working on every part of the pattern, not just the symptom.

Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book directly. If I think you need a scan or a GP's opinion, I'll tell you.
Will my health insurance cover it?
Most major insurers don't cover sports therapy, but some smaller providers that cover alternative therapies will refund your fees. Check with your insurer.
What should I wear?
No specific clothing is required
A rough description is plenty. I'll get back to you as soon as I'm out of clinic.
