What is Oxygen Advantage


At Billericay sports Therapy we use the Oxygen Advantage breathing method to enhance respiratory function, allowing for improved athletic and sporting performance. The Oxygen Advantage is an advanced respiratory conditioning program that is ultimately designed to simulate high altitude training for sports people and athletes. Some elite athletes have the privilege of being able to train in the mountains, at high altitude, but fortunately we can achieve the same effect with specific breath exercises.

By doing specific breath holding exercises we can induce an increase in red blood cell production from the Spleen and from the Bone Marrow. Red blood cells carry oxygen. This ability to carry more oxygen and get increased oxygen delivery to the cells of the muscles produces significant improvements in fitness and performance levels.
